Vasyl Yarych is a Ukrainian sculptor, Honoured Artist of Ukraine. He was born on 29 September in the village of Velyka Turya. He studied at the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts (Lviv National Academy of Arts). The artist works with easel and monumental sculptures. He creates portraits and plastic compositions in various materials: terracotta, bronze, stone and wood. Vasyl Yarych is the author of many monuments, including the first monument to Mykhailo Hrushevsky in Ukraine in Dolyna and the famous monument to King Danylo Halytskyi on Halytska Square in Lviv. The artist's artistic heritage also includes memorial plaques in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Stryi, as well as a number of monumental works made in France.
