Photographer Andriy Kotlyarchuck was born on February 16 in 1966 in Kyiv. He graduated from Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University in 1993 and State Academy of leading personnel of Culture and Art, art studies faculty, in 2006.
Andriy Kotlyarchuck takes up the roles of the guide into that mystical, almost surreal world, turning into the truthful witness of the stories that are usually told next to a summer evening bonfire, when the line between reality and fiction becomes thinner and the images of the past enter our world to sit down for a moment and tell us about something that we are supposed to remember but involuntarily forgot.
Photographer admits that all the photos were made on the professional black and white film of a large format 4x5 and 5x7 inches. He was filming with two cameras and several lenses. His favorite lens turned out to be the bronze Emil Bush portrait-aplanatic lens 280/4 from the end of 19th century, which complemented the mysterious atmosphere of the photos.
